Don Warnet, former Board of Education member who most recently started the Sell the Church movement, has announced his candidacy to bring “A New Voice” to the Borough of Bradley Beach Council.
Warnet and his wife, Rosa, have three children and have been Bradley Beach residents since 2013, when their youngest child became a 6th grade student at Bradley Beach Elementary School. Their decision to move to Bradley Beach was one of the best decisions they ever made for their family. Their daughter flourished in the school system -one of the many reasons that motivated Don to serve on the Board of Education for six years.
Warnet served on the BOE finance and negotiations committee, approving difficult budgets that were impacted by reduced state aid. He also participated in complex contract negotiations with the teachers’ union.
A successful businessman, Warnet joined two colleagues in 1998 to start a new IT services company called Datapipe. Through hard work and incredibly long hours, it became one of the most respected companies in that field, as well as one of the world’s leading providers of managed cloud and hosting services. With well over 800 employees, Datapipe grew rapidly and added locations throughout the globe. In his capacity as Senior VP, Don wore many hats, from contract negotiator to sales team leader, sales operation team leader and various customer service management roles. The company was eventually sold with a valuation of over $1B.
Warnet then joined his former colleagues at a new Cloud Computing company called Effectual as the Cloud Cost Engineer, where he continues to focus on software administration today.
Warnet’s business background also includes experience as the owner of a restaurant, which gives him a unique perspective and critical understanding of the challenges facing small businesses in our community.
Don understands the value in local government supporting small businesses firsthand and recognizes that small businesses and a vibrant Main Street are an integral part of the life and future of the Bradley Beach community.
Warnet is a volunteer with Ocean Grove Assisted Living and is an acting board member of the Tri-State Chapter Bethany.Org. He is a Trustee of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
I’m committed to putting Bradley Beach first, ensuring that every voice is heard, and I would love the opportunity to earn your vote.
Don believes an independent voice is needed to reinforce checks and balances in our governing body and that effective leadership means people can disagree but still be treated with respect and compassion.
Don is committed to supporting Main Street progress to ensure our small businesses flourish and to protecting our beautiful treasures – our beaches, oceans, and lakes.
As a dedicated member of the Board of for over 6 years, Don took the lead in managing complex contract negotiations, and navigating intricate budget decisions.
Don led the Sell the Church movement, bringing the community together and holding our elected officials accountable to the will of the voters.
